David of Water – 6X8 Acrylic on Canvas $90

David was an outdoorsman, his soul was a fisherman

I didn’t know David well, only through hello’s at the cafe, gas station, or lodge, and although he had a seemingly narrow perspective on generality he seemed like a good human down inside.

David went out ice fishing alone one January eve and never mentioned it to anyone. A few days later they found his set up and soon after found David. He was under the ice, eyes wide open, possibly for the first time in his life.

This sparked a wave of humanity and caring that he was likely incapable of creating in life. The community rallied for his family and friends and many who were in need found new hope.

Maybe he knew that all along. I still see David from time to time. I wave and say hello.
