Before the Party – 30X24 Acrylic on Canvas $125

The big barn down at the end of Myrtle was once owned by the Miller’s and they would always have the best get-togethers. The family, specifically Ed, the father, was really into holidays to the point where he earned the nickname “Fezziwig” by the locals.

His favorite time of year was Autumn and he opened his doors to an enormous amount of folks for his annual Halloween party.

Sharing in his fondness, I would always stop by early, before everyone would clog the rooms and take in all the decorations and ghosts, paper and literal, that were about the facility.

I’ve not known a place more befitting as a happy haunt as Ed’s and in most corners, you could see a momentary flicker of a smile from some long-past spirit, still enjoying the moment.

What would they tell us if they could?

Enjoy. Every. Moment.
