The Late Mrs. Evelyn – 24X30 Acrylic on Canvas $125

The late Mrs. Evelyn isn’t dead, she’s just always late. She didn’t even show up for this portrait painting so I had to do it from memory, which I assure you, is why it’s so awkward looking.

It’s not really her fault, she is existing at the highest level she can achieve at any given point… right? I mean, who would strive to achieve less than they are capable of?

When she did finally show up, smelling of what I believe to be menthol cigarettes, after multiple croupy coughs, she said “It’s not nice to fool with Mother Nature” and burst out laughing. then she took a swig from her flask and offered me some, of which I partook.

This is why I like her. I like the characters in this village unless they are truly on the lower side of the posterior.

Believe it or not, Evelyn did pay for and tip me for this portrait…ten bucks and a scratch-off that I won a dollar on. She asked to borrow the lottery ticket until she got paid in a few weeks.

All good.
